Project Management
What it does: Create and organize all your electrical design projects. Every other module works within the context of a selected project.
How to use:
- Click "New Project" to create a new project
- Enter project name, customer, engineer, and description
- Click "Set as Current" to switch to a project
- All data in other modules is automatically linked to the current project
Tip: Always select a project before working in other modules. Otherwise, data will not be saved.
Cable Sizing
What it does: Calculate the appropriate cable cross-section based on load current, voltage drop, and installation conditions.
How it works:
- Enter load power, voltage, power factor, cable length, and installation method
- The app automatically calculates the load current using standard formulas
- It then checks ampacity against standard cable tables
- Finally, it verifies voltage drop and recommends the smallest cable size that meets both requirements
Formulas used:
Voltage drop: ΔU% = (√3 × I × L × (R·cosφ + X·sinφ)) / U × 100
Results include:
- Calculated load current
- Recommended cable cross-section
- Ampacity check (pass/fail)
- Voltage drop percentage and check
- Warning messages for oversized loads
Load Calculation
What it does: Calculate total electrical load for a building using the demand factor method.
How to use:
- Add individual load groups: lighting, power outlets, HVAC, motors, etc.
- Enter installed capacity, demand factor (Kd), and power factor (cosφ) for each group
- Click "Calculate" to get total load results
How it works:
- Calculates active power: Pjs = Kd × Pe
- Calculates reactive power: Qjs = Pjs × tanφ
- Applies simultaneous factor (default 0.9)
- Calculates apparent power: Sjs = √(Pjs² + Qjs²)
- Recommends transformer size with 20% margin
Panel Configuration
What it does: Design distribution panels, specify breakers, buses, and circuit schedules.
Note: This is a data entry module. Enter your panel configuration details manually. Future versions may include automatic breaker sizing based on load calculations.
Short Circuit Calculation
What it does: Calculate fault current at the main distribution panel and recommend breaker breaking capacity.
How it works:
- Enter transformer capacity (kVA) and impedance percentage (typically 4-6%)
- The app calculates three-phase and single-phase short circuit currents
- It then recommends the minimum breaker breaking capacity with 20% safety margin
Standard ratings: 6kA, 10kA, 15kA, 25kA, 35kA, 50kA, 65kA
Grounding System
What it does: Design grounding systems, calculate earth resistance, and size grounding electrodes.
How to use:
- Enter required resistance (typically 4Ω for general, 1Ω for sensitive equipment)
- Enter soil resistivity (typical values: 50-500 Ω·m)
- The app calculates the number of vertical grounding electrodes needed
Formula used:
Number of electrodes = R_required / (R_single × utilization_factor)
Motor Control
What it does: Record motor specifications and control circuit details.
Note: This is a data entry module. Enter your motor control details manually. Future versions may include automatic starter sizing.
Lighting Design
What it does: Calculate required number of lighting fixtures for a room using the lumen method.
How to use:
- Enter required illuminance (lux): 100 for corridors, 300 for offices, 500 for detailed work
- Enter room area (m²)
- Enter lumens per lamp (typical: 2000-5000 lm for LED)
- The app calculates the number of lamps needed
Meter Sizing
What it does: Record main breaker, busbar, and service entrance equipment details.
Note: This is a data entry module. Future versions may include automatic meter sizing based on total load calculation.
Cable Tray
What it does: Record cable tray layout and dimensions.
Note: This is a data entry module. Future versions may include automatic fill ratio calculation.
Lightning Protection
What it does: Calculate lightning rod placement and protection radius.
How it works: Simple rolling sphere method calculation. Enter rod height and protection level to get the protection radius at ground level.
Cable Schedule
What it does: Generate a complete list of all cables with lengths, types, and spare capacity.
Features:
- Enter each cable: start point, end point, type, conductor, cores, length
- Automatically adds 10% spare length for installation slack
- Summary view: total length by cable type
- Export to Excel
Project Quotation
What it does: Create professional quotations with material costs, labor costs, markup, and tax.
Features:
- Material Library: Pre-loaded with common electrical materials (breakers, cables, conduits, etc.)
- Quote Items: Add items from the material library or enter manually
- Import from Device Log: Automatically import all devices from your device log into the quotation
- Pricing Parameters: Material markup %, labor cost, management fee %, tax %
- Auto-calculation: Total cost is automatically recalculated as you add items
- Export: Export to Excel or PDF
Tip: Use "Import from Device Log" to save time — enter all your equipment once in the Device Log, then import it directly into the quotation.
Terminal Blocks
What it does: Design terminal block schedules for control panels.
